Hello to everyone at Crooked Tree, at last I am able to get use of the computer. I wish to thank everyone of the committee for the wonderful reunion, especialy to Linda Crawford and Louise Crawford who managed to make my trip over to Belize possible. Without their help it would not have been possible to go to the wonderful country of Belize. It was amazing to meet so many people, family I have never met and all the lovely people of Crooked Tree. I must also thank Mr. Lloyd Gillett who was also very helpful with my stay in Belize. I don't know how to thank him for all the help he has given and all you wonderful people at home. I have to thank you from my heart and I would recommend anyone who wants to visit Belize to go to Crooked Tree Village and see how wonderful the lovely Village is. I don't how to thank all my family members for making me, a complete stranger feel so welcome. There are many family members I never got to see but will look forward to my next visit (hopefully will be a bit more organised ) and visit more of the tranquil Village again. Again to Linda, Louise, Lloyd and all my cousins, many , many thanks and I will be in touch with you all soon. Love and best wishes from the UK and good wishes to all of the committee. God bless you all. Graham Gillett |

Hello Everyone,
We appreciate all the comments that you have been sending about the Reunion, and we would like to encourage others to do the same. I sent these thoughts about the Reunion to all my fellow Commitee Members, and I would also like to share them with all of you!!! .... The first time will not be perfect but from what I experienced, and all the feedback I got from friends and family that was there, The Reunion was a great success.
The one thing that we had no control of was the weather... needless to say if we could have started the Friday night as planned, the Saturday would have been much less hectic for us. However, we hung in there and did our best to make the events go as smoothy as possible, and it was all worth the efforts.
When I look at the "Big Picture". there are so many positive things that this Reunion brought us, we can really be pleased and proud.
Which other event have brought so many people from so many places, to be in Crooked Tree all at the same time?
Families & Friends reuniting was the #1 reason for the Reunion. and we certainly saw a whole lot of family and friends uniting and reuniting. (The Village benefited)
I saw all the people visiting the wellness clinic, getting checked out.
Loretta and the team were running it very smoothly. (The Village benefited)
The Sunday worship was enjoyed by so many people. Everyone who was there will never forget it. (The congregation benefited, and the offerings benefited the church) I saw my Aunt dancing with her daughters, grand daughters, and her son visiting from Chicago. they were all having such a great time together, she will always remember that night.
So many people in crooked tree made many "Once in a lifetime memories" at the Reunion.
The Clown did a great job of keeping the kids entertained all day Saturday. (I saw many happy childern playing)
As big as my family, most of us were all there together having a great time. even when the rain was pouring down on the tent on Sunday. It was even a Godsend that so many people were there in Crooked Tree, to pay last respects to Gramps. I didn't know Gramps, but I got to know his daughter that works at the lodge where I was staying. We all went to the wake.
This reunion was a positive experience for me. and I am glad to have been a part of it.
Like with everything, the first time is a learning experience, and the next time will be easier and even more successful.
Personally, the best reward for me was finally meeting all the other committee members that I have worked with the past year, but have never met. That and also getting to know so many new family members and seeing the old ones all together having a great time.... "I had such a great time in Crooked Tree" PS. Next time we will make sure there are enough activities for the teenagers and young adults... |

My heart is sadden by such a great lost. My condolences to the children and family of such a great Lady... May God hold you all in the comfort of his arms... Rest in PEACE Miss Morlene. |

First of all we would like to give our deepest sympathy to the family of Merlene Lesie Wade, may she rest in peace. Secondly, I want to say CROOKED TREE VILLAGE REUNION WAS A REMARKABLE EXPERIENCE FOR ME!!!!Despite the weather it was a trip well worth it. It was a great experience for me and our daughter Jaleesa, it was wonderful listening to stories about Crooked Tree and the wonderful people who grew up there, I've learn't so much about my wonderful husband "Garreth" . I must say, we felt very proud and happy to hear our 6 year old daughter shout out to her nana when we were leaving the village that "CROOKED TREE IS THE BEST" she had a lot of fun with her cousins, most of whom she had just met at the reunion. That would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the committee, especially Aunt Linda. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to share your legacy Aunt, not a day go by without us talking about the events, family and friends we've met and the ones we haven't seen in a long time. God bless you!!!!!!! |

FIRST OF ALL I WANT TO SAY, MANY THANKS TO LINDA FOR THE REUNION CONCEPT, AND TO ALL SUCH GENEROUS PEOPLE THAT MADE THIS EVENT HAPPEN. IF IT WASN’T FOR THIS REUNION I WOULD NOT HAVE MET MY TWO AUNTS FOR THE FISRT TIME, AND SOOO MANY FAMILIES AND FRIENDS AT THE SAME TIME. I HAD A WONDERFUL TIME WITH ALL MY BROTHER,S AND SISTER’S. FIRST TIME THIS EVER HAPPEN THAT ALL OF US WERE IN BELIZE. I KNOW THAT THE WEATHER WAS A BIG FACTOR AT THIS REUNION, BUT IT DID NOT STOP ALL THE PEOPLE WHO CAME TO THE REUNION TO HAVE FUN. THIS WAS THE FIRST ONE AND EVERYONE WITH SOME COMMON SENCE SHOULD KNOW THAT THERE WILL BE SOME PROBLEM{S}, BUT I HOPE AS WE GO AND THEY GET DIFFERENT IDEA’S IT WILL BE A BLASS FOR EVERY ONE. KEEP IT GOING LINDA!!!!! |

| It's been about twenty three days now since the CTVR2008. Every day I wake up that's the first thing I remember and wish I was still in Belize(Crooked3). I must say again, Bravo Zulu to Linda, the committee and to each and every one that helped in making OUR VILLAGE REUNION one of the biggest thing that ever happened in our Country let alone our village. There's a little bit of talk going on, both positive and negative. I know from experience that whenever one takes on a huge challenge like this, you hope for the best but there are always little glitches, we over come and move on. The bottom line is: Linda and her crew have bigger cahoones than most men so let's give them the props they so much deserve. Besides the little rain, I think most people had a great time and would support future reunions. Before I go I must say, It doesn't matter which Church you attend or which religion you follow. A family and Village Reunion is design to do one thing, that is to bring family and friends closer together in one love, harmony and unity. I think God would love that , wouldn't you? Lets re-connect with our scriptures and do better next time. | |||

| Our deepest sympathy goes out to all the family members and friends of Morlene Wade. We should all know that this is the most difficult time that one will have to face in his or her lifetime. With the strength given to us by the most High, and the love and encouragement from our loveones, you'll see, a way will provide itself for you all to get through these seemingly impossible times. May God bless, guide and protect you all as you go down this rough road which will smoothen as the days go by. | |||

My sympathy goes out to the family of Merlene Wade. She was a hardworking woman and a very good seamtress. When I think of her I will always remember the many times we would go to her house in Belize City on Saturdays and even though she was very busy she tried to get our dresses finished in time for that Saturday night party. God be with you all in your time of grief. |

Hats off to all those involved in making The Crooked Tree Village Reunion a success. The excitement of meeting friends and relatives was intensified by the great performance of those involved. My little cousin was outstanding with his dance movements. He is an up coming star in his own way. The speakers on both days were dynamic and I learned a little more about Crooked Tree as well as my spiritual walk with God. I was somewhat disappointed that the Adolphuses were not mentioned in the history of the village. Maybe the next time around more of the founding "fathers" will be talked about. Although it rained, I was personally thankful because the weather was cool and tolerable. The highlight of the event was meeting with my Aunt Rochelle and cousins and singing those wonderful hymns. Again, congratulation to a job well done and I am looking forward to the next reunion. |

Hi All, Despite the awful weather, I have heard so many positive comments about the reunion. The planning committee worked sooo hard and I think they deserve an applause. In any event, although the activities could not be done as planned, I think the purpose of the runion was achieved as people were able to reunite with their loved ones and meet new friends and families. I know that many families were happy to see brothers, sisters, cousins and aunts that they haven't seen in a long time. Congrats to G (Georgia) on graduating. Keep going. You have the potential. |

| Now that I'm back from Belize, I could officially say that I had a wonderful time. Congratulations Linda for a job well done, and to the other members of the planning committee as well. All your hard work paid off. I indeed connected with a lot of my fellow villagers, whom I haven't seen in ages. Yes, it rained a lot, but that did not compare to all the juicy coconut tarts that I bit into on Saturday afternoon or all the fudge or powder buns that I consumed during these events; most importantly, had I not been there, I would not have seen and expressed my appreciation to my favorite teacher in Belize. For years I had wanted to tell him how much his belief in higher education - particularly - his belief and encouragement in my education meant to me. I was finally able to do so on Saturday. Thank you teacher Clarence!!! Louise, you were a real trooper in giving access to your house - you are the best!! Dr. Elmer Gillett, your Sunday morning sermon was right on time. To all I've had the pleasure of meeting; again, it was a joy... Here's looking forward to the next Crooked Tree family reunion. | |||

| Well the reunion is over and despite the rain and mud I had a wonderful time. I rembered the old times and sometimes I throw off my shoes and walked barefooted in the mud and rinse off when I saw a good clean puddle. I saw friends that I hadn't seen since high school and also a lot of families that are scattered over the USA. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who were at my house helping us packing bags etc. Special thanks goes to Nicole Westby for been with us everyday helping out with the decorations. You did a great job. I also want to thank my daughters Rose and Robbie, my neice Jenny Cadle, my cousin Dione and Kendra for forming an assembly line with putting the cups in the bags. Most of all I want to thank my brother Rudy and sister-in-law Gloria Crawford because without Gloria's help we would have been in a big mess for Sunday brunch. She came in and just did her best for us at the last minute without much notice and I love her for that. Belated birthday greetings to my first born Rosie Dawson hope you enjoyed your party last Sunday. | |||

I ENJOYED THE REUNION, ESPECIALLY MEETING WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS I HAVE NOT SEEN FOR SO LONG, BUT MY GREATEST MOMENT WAS AT SUNDAY'S CHURCH. THE PREACHER, DR. ELMER GILLETT WAS SENT BY GOD, HIS WORDS AND WISDOM CAME FROM HIS HEART. HIS MESSAGE WAS SO RIGHT FOR THE REUNION, LIKE WE SAY "HIT THE NAIL PAN THE HEAD". THE STANDING OVATION FOR LINDA WAS APPROPRIATE, LIKE MY COUSIN VIRGINIA SAY, "LETS HAVE CHURCH ALL DAY" THAT WAS OK WITH ME. DR E. GILLETT, I SAY THANKS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR YOUR BLESSING AND MAY GOD WALK WITH YOU. DEXTER S NICHOLSON |

Hi Crooked Tree Reunion Committee. I want to commend Nadine for doing a wonderful job as the co-MC. It was good to be in Crooked Tree again after some time and to see some folks that I have not seen in ages. I enjoyed going down memory lane with Dwight Tillett. However if there should be another reunion, I think it should be in the dry season, it was hard to have a great time with all that mud and rain. |

| When I heard about the Crooked Tree Reunion I was so excited. It wasn't what I expected it to be. To me, it was more of a parents/grandparents kind of thing so they can meet up with all the people they grew up and went to school with. I left Belize in February of 2000 and I went back for the first time for the Reunion. All the people I grew up and went to school with were right under my nose when I returned to Belize so I had no one to run into at the Reunion. It was obvious that people were having a good time but I think that children should be taken into consideration for the next time. | |||

Hello All, I would like to thank all who participated in The Crooked Tree Village Family Reunion. Despite the cancellation on Friday, I felt that it was a success. I would especially like to thank all the committee members who dedicated many hours preparing for these events and to all the volunteers that helped in preparing the food, the concession stand and the clean-up after. According to the many people I have spoken to after the celebration, they seemed to have all had a great time. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to send in your feed back whether it be compliments or criticism, so that the next Crooked Tree Village Reunion would be even better than this one. |

Peace and Blessings from Los Angeles! I was delighted to find out about this wonderful website full of history and family memories from Crooked Tree. I am the youngest daughter of Stephen (Stebo) Gillett, and granddaughter of Edwin and Mary (May) Gillett. I wish I could attend this fun filled weekend. I hope to see Crooked Tree again sooner than later. I hope this is an annual or bi-annual thing, that way young adults like myself can know the entire family! Our prayers are with you for good weather and a successful event. With Love, Erin erinagillett@yahoo.com |

On May 25th, 1990 a beautiful baby boy with ebony eyes was born to my sister Betty Wade Westby and her husband Maurice Westby, we called him Malcolm (Butch). He brought so much love and sunshine into all of our lives. Unfortunately the sun sets for him on March 10th, 1996, today he would have been 18 yrs old. I would like to celebrate his very short life with my sister Betty and her family: Maurice, Chantel, Pappy, Mahlon, Joel and DJ. When someone touches our life the way little Malcolm did, he can never be forgotten, even though he is gone from this life his spirit lives on in our hearts. I know today may bring a few tears for my family, but lets remember the wonderful little guy he was, so full of energy, laughter, love and an imagination that was priceless.
Wherever you are little man… rest in PEACE.
My LOVE for you is endless…

You look lovely in your picture. I will never forget your kindness to my mom during her final days. Also to my aunt Virginia, your kindness also did not go unnoticed. And finally to Aunt Bernice thanks for holding me up when it felt to me, the most difficult task of preparing my mom for her final journey. Aunt Olive and Aunt Maggie I love you all too. God willing I will be seeing you all soon; my only sadness is that my mom will not be there. | |||

Hello and blessings to the family I don't know yet but look forward to meeting in June. I just found out about this magnificent event taking place in Crooked Tree, Belize and I'm making plans to attend so I can connect my family branches to the tree. I reside in Marietta, Georgia (northwest of Atlanta) with my husband, Devon. We had the awesome opportunity to attend another family gathering back in 2005 (Gillett / Bull Reunion) and that, to me, was only the tip of the iceburg of starting to put together this phenominal puzzle we call FAMILY. My prayer is that we have safety in our travels and plans to make this a monumentous celebration. Vie. |

We are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ who is the foundation of Christianity throughout most of the world. I would like for all to remember to keep their eyes on Him. If Christ wasn’t raised from the dead all this was going to be in vain. Christ resurrection sealed our salvation.

| Happy Easter to everyone. This is the time when my family remember Crooked Tree with fond memories. I can still smell the fried fish and cross bun that my mother used to have waiting for us. Easter Sunday we would all go to the Nazarene church then go home to eat hicattee dinner with potato salad and fried plantains. Later that day we would visit all the relatives. My parents, Ethel and Hubert Gillett, aunts Bertha, Florence, Evelyn, Lilly, Beatrice, Ivy, Leolin, uncles Jimmie, Maurice, Selvyn and Archie have all passed on but we will never forget them. Let us honour our ancestors at the coming reunion. They were awesome!!!! | |||

My name is Verna and my husband Victor Codd and I are looking forward to attending the Reunion in Crooked Tree. He does not know his family and we are excited about finding out who his relatives are. If anyone there can help us out it would be greatly appreciated: Here is the information that we have. His father was William "Bill" Codd, born in Crooked Tree in 12 Dec 1925 and passed away in Belize City in 2005. We were told by him before he passed that his father was: Oliver Codd and his mother was Sarah Wade. His brothers were: George and Denog. His sisters were: Viola and Dolly. He also mention Florence Codd as a relative, but I cannot remember for sure whom he said she was. If anyone recognized any of this information, please email us so we can get a better understanding of his family roots. Thanks, Verna and Victor Codd |
