I was fortunate to have both Abigale and  Clarence as my teacher; they were so dedicated to their students. I wish they had never left Crooked Tree Government School. I remember going to pick cashew seed in the evenings after school and seeing them on Mrs. Emma's front step, probably planning their future.

Best wishes, true love never dies.

Clarence and Gail,

I'm so delighted to see how far you both have made it, knowing firsthand from whence you came.  You have been successful in so many ways in spite of many obstacles.  Your marriage in particular has been encouraging to me.

At your wedding forty years ago, I remember wishing you both "the happiest marriage that any couple can have."  I believe my wish has come through and that it will be so for many years to come.

God bless you always, my beloved brother and sister-in-law!

I am humbled and honored to be a guest on this site. It lends great satisfaction, and inspiration to me to see the monumental success of your patriotic and philanthropic endeavor. Giving back to the community from where you came is a virtue beyond reproach and  should be commended with the loftyest of accollades. This is a great example of what others can, and should do for their communities, and like minded individuals should take note. Every once in a good while a great visionary comes along, and inspires others with his/her valiant ideas. This here, is such an occasion, and I am proud to be experiencing it. Continue to illuminate the way forward, and they will follow.

I want to take this opportunity to extend the family's gratitude to Linda for her steadfast support, not long ago, when my mother Rebecca Banner/Gillett was in the hospital. Mom has fully recovered, and she still wants to meet you Linda. Our family claims both Crooked Tree and Lemonal as places of our heritage. my mom and all her siblings were born in Lemonal, and some migrated to, and resided in crooked Tree.....most notably: Aunt Hazel (Ma Haze) Wade....my mother's eldest sister. Perhaps because my mom was born there, and because we spent a lot of summers there with our dad, visiting Aunt Hettlemae, and Uncle Herbert Banner.....I am a little more intimately sentimental towards Lemonal. But I do love Crooked Tree, and yes, we are all cousins.....and together we will continue to be strong.......KEEP UP THE FANTASTIC WORK, LINDA AND THE ORGANIZATION. YOU'VE DONE US PROUD..!!!!

Almost three weeks have passed and I'm still question if everything is real or just a bad dream.  I just can't accept it.  I keep staring at Diane's photo as if to force myself to face the brutal reality ,but in my heart she's still alive because when I look at her picture I can still feel her love and it comforts me.

To those who love Diane Tillett Dawson and to those whom she loved, just KNOW this:  Diane's love is a part of who you are and it STAYS and gives you strength and courage!

On behalf of the Tillett and Dawson let me say a personal thank you to all those who shared our loss, and even though far away, grieved with us.

My sister was just starting to enjoy life, but God knows best that is all we have to comfort ourselves with. All we have is good memories of her, but for me her stew beans, thank God, she gave me the recipe, she made the nicest beans.

We must all pray for little Tes, he was close to his mom and only the good Lord can help him. She was the rock of the family, and they must make great changes, but as family we Tillet girls and boys will see them through.

Diane was my brother’s Sam favorite sister, and I let her go to him; I know those two will be happy and he will keep her safe, she is not alone.

Miss Diane was my host mother this past summer. I lived with her and Derrick for two weeks. Diane was always the "cool mom". The other kids would come over to our house to watch TV and eat her "real American" peanut butter. Diane always kept her door open to friends and visitors.

I feel so blessed that I was able to spend so much time with Diane. It's hard to believe that she is gone, and my heart goes out to Big Tess, Tess, Shanda, and little Derrick. It was easy to see how much she loved you all. Diane was passionate and loving, and she made my exchange experience in Belize so incredible. I'm going to hold on to every memory I can.

Thank you for dear Rennie Jones and his salvation. Thank
you for those who love him here on earth and for the love that you have for him in Heaven. This is an awful and painful crisis, Father God, but we know with certainty that you can make miracles and or blessings at any time and in any situation. Father, ...we would love to hear of a miraculous healing for precious Rennie Jones, and I pray with compassion and expectancy that it would be so. But Lord, whatever your plan is for Rennie Jones and his loved ones, please assure them that you are present and faithful in this situation and that you have never left for even one moment. Bless them all and shower them with your love and mercy. Guide everyone one, every  professional and every observer in this situation to see you and your light of love and truth. I know this is the hardest thing that can be said for we are not the ones going through what you are, we all will be here for you guys if you needed us.

Most of us here in the U.S. will not be able to make it to the funeral in person, but our hearts will be there. I will be praying for your contineous strength, and courage to get you through this, in spite of what people have to say, remember trust in GOD for he will help you.

My deepest sympathy to the Dawson and Tillett families. Diane was a good person and I am convinced that she is in a good place. Ms. Gloria and Mr. Charo, I can't even imagine the pain you are feeling right now. Stay strong in the lord my friends, he will give you the strength that you will need to get through these rough times.

To Tess and the children, Diane was a good wife and mother; she has touched so many people in the short time that God gave her to us. Diane will be missed by many people in Crooked Tree Village. I will keep you all in my prayers and thoughts.

Shanda sweetheart, hold on to the memories of your beloved mom. Because God is infinite, we always underestimate him. Nothing is a surprise to God, for He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He sees the past, the present, and the future in one glance.

Shanda, there is no way for us to comprehend the fullness of his infinite. Put your trust in him, he will never leave you nor forsake you. Your mom is in a place where she is needed. Someday we all will be visiting that city's bright glory.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Shanda and her entire family. I have to give you the outmost respect of not even trying to imagine the pain you're going through right now. You must put your faith and trust entirely in the All Mighty, He'll never let you down.

That's the only way you'll ever understand this tragic incident. Remember the love, laughter and all the good times you and your beloved mother shared before her passing. Do the things she would have expected of you and you'll remain best of friends forever. P.S., Let's all Pray for those who at this time  may cast blame on you for they know not what they're doing. Many names are called, but very few are chosen. Diane was one of the chosen few, May she rest in peace.

Much respect and Jah bless.

I was given the privilege to meet Ms. Dianne as I stayed in Crooked Tree last summer. I'm deeply sorry she passed for she was a beautiful woman. My prayers go out for the Tillet family and all of those who knew Ms. Dianne. Do remember, she is only asleep for this short time. When the time comes we will rise again together, and see her once more. Remember, Jesus said to place your burdens on Him and He will carry them. Ask for help in these trying times.

She was outgoing and friendly and I give my condolences to everyone in Crooked Tree. She was an amazing person and a role model for everyone, she will be missed. Derick and Shanda stay strong.

Over the summer, I was lucky enough to spend time with the Tillet family through living with Miss. Gloria and Mr. Clifford, and I got to know Miss Diane through going to her house to visit my friends who were staying with her, eating with her and her family, and talking with her. Miss. Diane was a wonderful, kind woman. I was truly blessed with the opportunity to get to know her.

My condolences go out to the Dawson/Tillet families.
You were blessed to have someone like Miss. Diane in your lives.

My condolences goes out to her entire family. Ms Gloria Cruz have always been a dear friend and Charo. Pray that the Lord hold you up and give comfort to you in this time of your lost.

"I cannot imagine the pain of losing a love one and would not find the words of what to say.But I want you to know that I am keeping you in my prayers. We sometimes question the Lord and never know why, but deep down inside we find the peace to know that God chooses the greatest and brightest star to place in the dark night to shine down on us. She was one of those star and one sure thing we need to know whenever you look in the skies, she will be there looking over us."

Moments before the incident we were all enjoying the cricket game at Bermudian Landing, laughing and talking, not knowing that when I followed them down the Lemonal road in my vehicle that it was sorrow I would encounter. I cannot begin to express the pain I know Shanda and her family must be going through and pray that God gives them the strenght to carry on.

Words cannot begin to explain the grief that is being felt not only in Belize, but also the U.S. for the loss of Diane.

Diane was like a cool older sister to me.  She got me hooked on watching Days and Passions.  We would laugh at how simple Passions was but wouldn't miss Ethan and Theresa for the world.  That was like my second home when we were in Belize especially when we were smaller.  We would spend the summer with my dad and stay by Diane and Tes.  She showed us how to wash on a scrub board and told us when we go bathe "mek sure you schroochie you panty".  Aye those were the days.  I'm gonna miss you Diane.  I won't be able to attend the funeral but keep in mind I'm there in spirit.  I wish I could be there for my cousins.  I wish Derrick didn't have to deal with this.  He's only 8 and my oldest is 8 and I can't come close to imagine what that must feel like.

Thoughts and prayers go out to her parents Mrs Gloria and Charo, her brothers and sisters, to Tes, and especially her kids.

Forever Young

Trapped in the glorious years
within the memory of belief, lost of all grief.
Take the reasons,
which once seemed so clear,
but never mind, you have nothing to fear.
For you my fried will be, forever young,
Forever in the heart of memories.

Lost in the glory of all time,
the wisdom was there within that smile,
You see you could have told us,
there within lies the mystery.

So shed a smile, and grin a tear,
For you my friend, will be,
Forever young, Forever young.
Forever in the heart of memory,
We see not through or misery.
Forever young, forever young.
There's a new angel tonight.

It is with deepest sympathy that we all join together to mourn the loss of a great daughter of Crooked Tree Village, a loving person Diane who has departed ahead of us to be with the Lord.

She died as she lived, always seeking to help others and that is what she was seeking to do when she heard of an accident involving four youngsters from Crooked Tree who overturned in a car near lemonal, while she was watching the game between Bermudian Landing/Crooked Tree in Landing yesterday.

I spoke to her and Lolette  moments before who was also in the vehicle with her at the time of the accident and Diane was so relaxed and said that she would watch the second half of the game just from the shade of a parked vehicle. She was so supportive of the Cricket team  and the last thing she did was to purchase some water for the guys of the team.

My son John , along with three other persons were in his vehicle  just behind them about 30 seconds, but out of sight with the same objective of helping out the youngsters when they were devastated when pulling around a curve to see the terrible accident. Luckily they were there, and could have helped to remove Lolette who was trapped or it could have been much more serious for her likewise.

As I rushed to the scene  of the accident, and viewed the body of Diane, and saw the condition of other occupants of the vehicle, and the pain they were going through my heart ached to observe such a situation. My mind reflected on the words of James : For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time , and then vanisheth away.

We also wish Lolette and Shanda a speedy recovery and let the entire Family  know that the Lord will be with them in this extremely difficult period and always and he will direct their paths.

Tes and family , Charro/ Gloria, and Family be strong in this difficult period and place all you trust in God, acknowledge him and he will direct all you steps. We are all with you.

Deepest Sympathy,

John A. Gillett

Linda I got conformation that the Cashew Festival's new date is May 14th-16th, 2010.

Can you look into it, and make an official announcement? It is also conformed that we have a new festival committee, they got rid of the old one that made one dollar profit from last year's  festival.

Our hope is that this one will be better, even though I am not optimistic.

Faces are like magic mirrors. Looking at the people in our village who belong to us, we see the past, the present, and the future.

About 2 years ago in Crooked Tree Village, Mr. Herman Westby passed away. I have been trying to get a picture of him for the "Memorial Album" on our Website ever since. A friend and fellow Crookedian, Gaspar Davince found a painting in an art gallery in Costa Rica that he thinks has a resemblance of Mr. Westby.

I have decided to use this painting in our photo album as a representation of Mr. Herman Westby because I too can see the resemblance. If anyone out there has a picture, I’d appreciate you sharing it to us.

What do you fellow Crookedtrians who knew Mr. Westby think about this picture?

Please go to the photo album page of this Website to see the picture!

Happy Birthday to Jasmine Kerr Rivas, the grand-daughter of Birty and Ann Kerr of Crooked Tree Village.

Also, I would like to congratulate her and Andrew Neal, both of Belizean heritage, for their outstanding job at school. They were selected as two of 10 students from participating Alliance High Schools in Los Angeles, California to visit the White House on February 18, 2010.

Their trip included meeting the President and First Lady, attending a concert at the White House sponsored by the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles in honor of music from the civil rights era, and a visit to the United States Congress.

Congratulations Jas, we love you!!!

I can't believe you're really gone.  It's hard to accept, even after so long.  Your cousins miss you dearly, and talk about all the good times you guys have had.  I tell them that you will always be in their hearts, but most importantly, you will be the guardian angel that watches over them.  You are gone - but not forgotten.

I'm so looking forward to the reunion next year.  Here's hoping that the negativity gets put to better use than using it to hurt others.  Good luck to Linda and the committee members because we don't even know all the hard work and effort they put into this.  It's so easy for people to try and find fault in the efforts instead of trying to work together and help your fellow man or woman in this case.

I'm hoping this time around there is less unwillingness to promote and praise and big up the hard work being put in.  No one can put you down if you don't allow them to.  Have a negativity filter around you at all times and don't let it discourage you.  I appreciate you and all that you guys are doing.  Keep up the good work!!!

Oh my G-d, he was at the reunion!! My tears are flowing! My heart is so sad, I did not get to meet my nephew. We do foolish things in life, but there is no excuse in not getting to know your family.

If I had the last day to live, what would I be grateful for? Not the success in my life! It's for family in the past and the present, my friends and my health.

Carolyn, thank you very much and I love you!!

Every minute we should make every moment count, every breath is a gift of G-d.

AS WE LOOK BACK by Carolyn Crawford:
FOR MY BROTHER JERMAINE 'SANJAY' TRAPP WHO WAS GUNNED DOWN OVER A YEAR AGO!

AS WE LOOK BACK SINCE YOU’VE BEEN GONE,
WE FIND OURSELVES STILL HOLDING ON,
DID WE REMEMBER TO THANK YOU ENOUGH?
FOR ALL THE ENCOURAGING WORDS YOU HAVE GIVEN TO US?
FOR ALL THE TIMES WE LAUGHED AND CARED
NOW IN A WORLD WITHOUT YOU THAT IS SO BARE,
TO HELP AND PUSH US TO OUR GOALS
TO UNDERSTAND THAT GOD HAS A DEEPER SOUL,
TO ACCEPT LIFE CHALLENGES AND SUCCESS,
TO KNOW THAT WE DID OUR BEST,
FOR TEACHING US TO GET ALONG,
THE VALUE OF HARD WORK, GOOD JUDGEMENT AND THE ABILITY TO STAY STRONG.

WE WONDER IF WE EVER THANKED YOU MUCH,
FOR ALL THE SACRFIFICES YOU MADE,
FOR THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE,
TO KNOW YOU WERE TAKEN AWAY WITH STRIFE,
IF WE HAVE FORGOTTEN TO SHOW YOU LOVE,
JUST KNOW WE ARE PRAISING YOU ABOVE,
AND WE ARE HOPING YOU KNEW ALL ALONG,
JUST HOW MUCH YOU MEANT SINCE YOU’VE BEEN GONE.

Can we get a conform date on the Crooked Tree Cashew Fest for this year? Many of us that lived in the U.S.A look foward to it. It was a huge disappointment last year, because of swine flue. They had it much later than usual, unconform report from the person incharge stated that they made, would you believe this, one dollar profit, I am not kidding. The meeting was held months later to report it.

Hello Michael, you want to know why we can't get our road fixed? Because our government is nothing but a pack of gangs. And I mean both parties, they all enter politics to get rich from the resources of the Belizean people.

And I'm not forgetting our arear representative that built a road over the back lagoon for a handful of farmers, four or five to be exact. A road that will only damage the environment. I would like to ask our area rep; Where is the rest of the money that "Was Not" spent on the  Blackburn Road?

Politicians in Belize are crooks and criminals!!

I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to my cousin Murvin “Murry” Sylvester Crawford. Mur, thank you for being, first of all, YOU! A year ago you had to face some challenges and you endured. Even when the outlook seemed bleak and you didn’t know what was coming next, you moved forward. You never give up!!

Let me tell you, none of us give thought to the truck that you drive down our highways every day. You are a professional truck driver, and we owe a great deal of “thank yous” to you, and all the truck drivers that make those deliveries all across America. It is more than just driving a truck; you and all the professional drivers are responsible for a great deal of the food on my table tonight.

Thank you for your kindness! Thank you for your diligence and bravery! I appreciate you very much, and all your hard work and dedication to family. You are one of a kind!!

Unfortunately I know too well the misery caused by an untimely death. It was God's plan that he pass on when he did and we know that God's will is best.

Ms. Margaret, my prayers, my thoughts, my tears and my heart goes out to you all.

With great sadness!!

I am Tricia Jones the daughter of Landy Jones. I just want to say on behalf of my mom Rosita Jones, my sister Ivy Jones and my brother Landy Jones Jr. that we loved and miss our Uncle Vincent a lot.

We use to stay at his home whenever we visited Crooked Tree. As humbled as their home was, it always felt like a palace. All the good food my Aunt Magret made.

Just a couple of weeks ago I visited Ramona in Chicago and we remebered the wonderfull time we had when we were in Crooked Tree. He just made us laugh all the time with his crazy jokes.

I last saw my uncle when he visited me in Los Angeles and as usual always would tell me that I was his favorite niece. I know he tell all of his niece the same thing, but that was my Uncle Vincent for you. He always wanted everyone to feel special.

I know all his family and friends were special to him and he showed it everytime you are around him. I love and will miss him daily for he will remain alive in my heart. Love to all my cousins and Aunt Margaret, especially Ramona, Hank and Adelita...

Much Love!!

My heart goes out to my aunt Margaret and family on the untimely death of my uncle, Vincent "Bredda" Jones. I remember when growing up uncle Vincent would let me help him break cashew seed and would tell me to go to school because education is important and life is only getting harder, because of his advice it helped me become the person I am.
I love my uncle and will miss him dearly.

My sympathies goes out to the Tillett family on the passing of my cousin "Uncle Dan".  Dan was partly raised by my parents and he and Rudy grew up as brothers.  Dan loved to read his books especially western.  Whenever he is in Crooked Tree you could always find him in house reading.

My sympathy goes especially to Miss Molly who was always at his side, to Jessie Tillett Crawford and her family and to Donald Jr. "Bleedy" and his family.

To Chad and Ron who loved spending time with their grand-father at the camp.  After his stroke he was never the same and I pray that you find comfort knowing that he is in a better place now where there is no more pain and suffering.

Uncle Dan may you rest in peace.

I just came back from our beautiful Crooked Tree, the rainy season had started, it is like living in the stone age, so many pot holes, they became mini lagoons. The sadest part of it, our people continued to suffer in silence, no one seems to care. For many, many years our village suffered from lack of good leadership or no leadership. At present we have a chairman in name only and Castro and his cronies are no where in site.

To all the family of Wilda Crawford please accept my sincere condolences on her passing; I am deeply saddened. She taught so many of our village's children and was so loved for the strength and courage she demonstrated in her home and our community. I will always have fond memories of Wilda who was my close cousin and friend.

Wilda in your distress you cried unto the Lord, and he heard you. May G-d have mercy upon your soul according to his loving kindness.

To Mrs. Oga, the Lord is your refuge and your fortress; put your trust in his arms and he will deliver you through these difficult times. Do not be afraid of his sa;vation, your beloved daughter Wilda is at rest where she will experience no more weakness sorrow or pain. The Lord called upon her and she answered. With her faith in G-d Wilda is in the hands of the Almighty. Her life was a legacy to our village that our hearts will always treasure. We will never forget her!

On  7.10.09 Supreme court judge Awich awarded three Belizeans $420,000 in damages against Zabaneh banana farm for union busting, it was a land mark decision for Belize. It was shameful, the evidence showed that in June 2001 after these six men were  fired, Samuels [ex immigration minister] sign a deportation order for them even though 3 were Belizeans and 3 were legal residents, Musa cancelled the order.

I am the neice of my late Aunt Claris Agatha Rhaburn Flowers.  She was a wonderful Aunt to me, and I am very sad that I didn't spend quality time with her when she was alive.

I guess I just wanted the Rhaburn family to know that even though I am related by marriage, Aunt Claris was my family and I miss her and loved her dearly.  She was a wonderful mother and an amazing aunt.

FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF OUR TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE

The Crooked Tree Village Reunion is proud to announce the first anniversary of our spectacular first ever village reunion! It was an occasion and an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, catch up and socialize with teachers, classmates, colleagues, and walk down memory lane.

Our anniversary carries a lot of meaning and the main goal behind our reunion was to relive the special bonds we shared back in those early days as youngsters growing up in Crooked Tree Village.

"A man travels the world over in search of what he needs, and returns home to find it". George Moore

We believe that there is no more powerful bond than our connections to those we love most, and this special bond goes a long way in providing us with a sense of well-being and belongings.

Family is not about having stuff, it is the relationship that matters. The power of the family bond is strengthen when we don't just have a family, but when we are actually being one together in Crooked Tree Village.

See you all at the next Crooked Tree Village Reunion in 2011

Linda Crawford & the Crooked Tree Village Reunion Committee

A Prayer
©  Patricia D. English

Today I woke up
And said a prayer for you
I prayed that you'd forgive me
For all the stupid things I do

I prayed for a love to find you
A love so pure and true
A love that will never die
Like the love I feel for you

I said a prayer for the ones you love
And the ones that love you
I prayed that you'd see the sky
In all it's beautiful blue

A prayer in my mind
A prayer in the air
A prayer soaring up
without a care

I made up my mind to say a prayer
Each and every day
A prayer that you'd find happiness
in every single way.

To all the fathers out there; HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! :)

Here's a little poem from an unknown author that I would like to dedicate to all the father's in the world!

What Makes a Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,

He called it ... Dad

Today is the day that my grandpa Henry is being burried. Words can't explain how sad I am. I haven't seen my grandfather in 14 years. It hurts so bad that I could'nt be there, but i'm there in spirit. My only comfort in loosing you grandpa is knowing that you are now with my beautiful grandmother Grace after 26 years.

Dear grandpa,
May you always walk in sunshine and God's love around you flow, for the happiness you gave us, no one will ever know. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. A part of us went with you, the day God called you home. A million times we've cried. If love could only have saved you, you never would have died.
The Lord be with you and may you rest in peace. I love you, until we meet again.

It is with deep sadness I write these few lines on the passing of Henry Tillett my closest neighbour.

I remember big boy from I was a kid
big, strong, powerful! Love to smile and enjoy a joke. I spoke to him less than a month ago, I was move to see how sick he was and how much he was suffering. It hurts to see so much off our love ones suffer in silence, it goes a long way to make a phone call, send a care package, a few bucks.

Words can not explain how deeply sad it is to know that Grandpa Henry is not with us any longer. You were taken from us so suddenly. You're probably up there in heaven dancing with Granny Grace, Grandma Bunsy, Russell, Aunt Liz, and Uncle James. To my family, we have to stay strong and know that he is in a better place now. I used to always worry about you Grandpa, but now I don't because I know now that you are safe in God's hands. Now you're at peace, on the wings of the angels.

Grandpa, may the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sunshine warm upon your face
And the rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the hollow of his hands

R.I.P Grandpa
I miss you so much

The Perriott family would like to convey our heartfelt condolences to the Tillett family on the loss of our dear cousin Mr Henry. Keep in mind my family that the God of all comforts is near to those that are broken at heart. Grief is the normal and natural response to the loss of someone we love. Grief is said to be a necessary part of the healing process and of learning to adapt to your loss. There is an empty space where before there was a living person. You need to adjust to life without that person. Grief may provide a necessary emotional release. Stay close to each other comfort each other and always remember The God of all comforts will give you the courage and the strength to cope. We all know he will be missed greatly and also contented to know that he is not in pain. Our prayers and love to all the family.     Love The Perriott's Family.

Today, June 3, 2009 my son Benjamin Elul is graduating from Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Florida.

Rafael and Linda joined the rest of my immediate family in congratulating Beni in this milestone.

Beni, we are proud of you for becoming a  "National Merit Scholar", a distinction that places you in a group of less than one percent of U.S. high school graduating seniors.

You also make us proud for being a "Top Ten Scholar" from among 750 seniors in your graduating class.

Beni will be entering the prestigious University of Chicago this fall.

We are delighted with your success and hope and wish that you will continue  in your studies for a great success in the future.

Wilda is the daughter of the late Edmond Crawford, who passed away a year ago during our Crooked Tree Reunion and Mrs. Claribel Gillett Crawford.

Wilda has been in the Karl Heushner Memorial Hospital in Belize City for several days now. She is suffering from kidney failure.

Wilda has been an outstanding member in the Crooked Tree Village community and has taught our children in the Crooked Tree Village School for over 25 years.

Let us all pray for Wilda today that G-d will heal her.

I returned from our beautiful village after a months vacation; it is with deep sadness and disappointment that I report the water project and the road to the main highway is dead for this dry season.

All the pipes for the water system is in the chairman's yard eroding. I asked the person who is in charge of our village for the last forty years what's up with the water system, he doesn't have a clue, which is sad.

Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers all over the world, especially those in Belize! I would like to salute all of my Aunts (the Crawford sisters) both in Belize and abroad. You are all beautiful, strong women who are wonderful examples of professional and personal success. Thank you all for your kindess, generosity, and love over all the years! And to my best friend, my Mom (Linda Crawford-Elul)... Thank you for always letting me be me! I am so grateful for all of your efforts, sacrifices, and love. I am thankful for every little thing you have done for me over the years, big and small, because without you I would not even be close to the person I am today! Know that I am living my life with the values you have imparted me-- kindness, perseverence, generosity, and action to help those around me.Because of you, I have the courage to fight for what I want in life, and have become a determined woman. You have always supported my dreams, as crazy as they are sometimes (!), and I can only hope that I will one day be half the mother, sister, aunt, and all around good person that you are! I love you Mommy, Aunts, and big up to women working hard everywhere!

My condolences to Alda Rose Jones and her family for the loss of her son, Shayne Warren Gillett.

May G-d give you the strength and the insight born of faith.

When we lose one who is dear, we mourn, but we must not mourn excessively. We must be grateful for what we had and find comfort in memories.

Alda, you may find the road ahead lonely, or you may dread tomorrow without that voice or smile that you are familiar with, but G-d will give you the courage to continue.

May G-d remember the soul of Shayne Warren Gillett
